Our Story Through the Years

Nova Capital Partners, LLC (now known as Nova Capital Global Markets, LLC) was established in 1999 in New York as a “technology focused” investment bank. Operating primarily in the United States, the company sought to grow strategically outside of the U.S. market and into the world’s emerging markets and, in 2002, Nova commenced operations in Africa, most notably South Africa and Nigeria.

Over the years, the company continued to grow throughout Africa operating in over 25 countries across the continent - and establishing itself as one of Africa’s premier pan-African investment banks serving clients in industries as diverse as financial services, agriculture, telecommunications and mining.

Focusing primarily on capital formation and corporate advisory, Nova continued its steady growth in the region establishing an office in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2005.

In 2006, the firm continued its expansion further into the emerging markets by moving into Central and Eastern Europe as well as Southern Europe. Working in countries such as Poland, Russia, Ukraine, and Turkey, the company continued to grow its footprint within many of the worlds rapidly developing economies - representing leading publicly traded and privately held companies in these regions. With the organization continuing to grow and increase its service offerings in these markets, Nova Capital

commenced operations in Asia in 2008 with a specific focus on mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan. This strategic expansion significantly extended the company’s geographic presence and set the course for the launching of New Bridge Investments, a tightly focused private equity fund designed to co-invest into certain of Nova Capital’s investment banking transactions. In early 2010, Nova spun out its African unit forming “Nova Capital Africa”, a principal operating subsidiary. Today, the company continues to expand both its geographic presence and its service offerings as it solidifies its place in the market as one of the industries preeminent emerging markets investment banks.
